After massive box office success, ‘Dhurandhar’ premiered on OTT on January 30, 2026. The makers soon dropped the first teaser of ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ online. On the same day, reports of a new streaming partner for the second installment surfaced on the internet. Now, a latest report has confirmed the shift of OTT partner. Here’s what happened.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ OTT rights get sold for a whopping Rs 150 crore
According to the Bollywood Hungama report, the first digital platform wanted to buy the streaming rights of both parts together before the release of ‘Dhurandhar’ in theaters. A source told the publication, “Netflix wanted to buy both the installments together at a sum of Rs. 175 crores prior to the release of the first part. But with immense faith in their product, Jio Studios waited for the first part release and has secured a humongous deal of Rs. 150 crores for the second part alone. This is nearly double of what Netflix paid to acquire the first part.”As per the report, the digital rights of the first part were sold at Rs 85 crore. The insider further shared with the web portal that the Rs 150 crore deal is one of the biggest transactions that has happened in recent times. The person stated that the streaming platforms have started showing low interest in acquisition in the current times; however, the massive success of ‘Dhurandhar’ and audience demand made them pay a hefty amount.
